If you run a verification through Vouchsafe, you will see a panel like this on the results page:
We scan every verification using signals from the wider Vouchsafe network, including suspicious patterns of activity and fraud reports, to provide risk indications.
How does Radar work?
A typical verification will involve a name, date of birth, address, as well as facial biometrics and one or more document numbers.
We anonymously track these across the Vouchsafe network and highlight when we have seen unusual activity patterns that might indicate a synthetic or stolen identity.
If we detect a raised risk, we will not automatically verify the user and instead pass them to you for review.
In extreme cases, Vouchsafe will automatically block known fraudsters from proceeding.
What should I do if I see a raised Radar risk?
You should take extra care when accepting a user with a raised risk as a customer, and consider asking for extra evidence, similar to dealing with a positive AML result.
Does Radar preserve my users' privacy?
Yes, Radar's workings are completely internal, and are only exposed to customers via an opaque risk score.
In this way, customers can benefit from each other without any explicit data sharing.
How can I report known fraud?
Fraud reports make Radar more effective for everyone. To make a report, use live chat from the Vouchsafe dashboard.
