To do this, you’ll need a share code from the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) website.
Vouchsafe supports all three types of share code, and we’ll guide you to the correct GOV.UK page based on what you're trying to prove.
How to get my share code?
Follow the link to sign into your UKVI account
Make sure the purpose of the check is correct (eg. right to work)
You'll get a 9 character code (letters and numbers)
What if I choose the wrong purpose when getting my code?
The code will not work. For example, if you're proving your right to work but choose right to rent, the check will fail.
Go back to UKVI and get a new code for the correct purpose.
Why do you ask for my date of birth?
UKVI checks that your date of birth matches the one on their records. If it doesn’t match, the code won’t work.
We’ll only ask for your date of birth if we haven’t already got it from another document you gave us.
I entered my code and date of birth, but it didn’t work. Why?
There are a few possible reasons:
You used the wrong type of share code (e.g. work vs rent)
You entered the wrong date of birth
Your code has expired (codes are usually valid for 30 days)
There’s a problem with the GOV.UK service (this sometimes happens)
Try again or get a new code from the GOV.UK website.
Is it safe to share my code here?
Yes. Your code is only used securely to check your status with UKVI. It won’t be shared with anyone else.
Share codes expire after 90 days, and you can cancel them any time on the GOV.UK website.
