My details look wrong

What to do if the details shown during your verification don't look right, or if your evidence isn't matching.

During your verification, you may be shown a name, date of birth, or address that the organisation has provided. This is the information they need your evidence to match against.

If anything looks incorrect - for example, your name is spelt wrong or there's a typo in your address - you'll need to contact the organisation directly. They'll need to correct it and reissue you with a new verification link.

Vouchsafe isn't able to make any changes to this information from our end.

My details look right, but it's still saying there's a mismatch

Sometimes the way your evidence displays your information doesn't exactly match what the organisation has on file - even if it's technically correct.

Common reasons this can happen:

  • Your document shows a shortened version of your name (e.g. "Rob" instead of "Robert")

  • Your document only shows an initial rather than a full first name

  • There's a slight difference in formatting between your document and what was submitted

If this happens, you'll be given the option to try again with a different document that might be a closer match.

If you don't have anything that matches more closely, you can select Continue anyway to submit your verification as-is. The organisation will then review it and may get in touch if they need anything further from you.
